Baking Powder

Baking powder is the number one raising agent. It’s what makes our cakes so plump and fluffy.

Our RUF Baking Powder in particular has lent a helping hand with sweet and savoury dishes for decades. There are a couple of little tips and tricks to follow when baking to give your bakes a nice rise in the oven:

  • always mix the baking powder with the flour first and sieve it through nicely. This mixes everything well and prevents little lumps of baking powder from forming.
  • You should also never leave the mixed dough to sit for a long time. It must be baked immediately, otherwise the baking powder will lose its power as a raising agent.
  • The mixed dough should always be placed in the preheated oven. This is when the baking powder develops its full power as a raising agent.

Your light and airy cake will delight all those who taste it.
